AOH Christmas Ceili Featuring The Steel City Rovers

The AOH in Redford presents the Annual Christmas Ceili Saturday December 15 starring THE STEEL CITY ROVERS. The Steel City Rovers are from Hamilton Ontario Canada and are Motor City Irish Fest favorites. Also performing will be The Jamrocks.  This will be a night not to be missed. The AOH Hall is located at 25300 Five Mile Rd. Redford, MI.

Ardan Academy Of Irish Dance Trivia Night

The Ardan Academy of Irish Dance Booster Club is hosting their winter Trivia Night at the AOH Hall on Saturday January 12, 2019. This is always a fun night and the proceeds benefit Ardan Booster Club Scholarship Fund. We will see you there.

Emigrant Support Program Of The Government Of Ireland Awards A Grant To The MIACC.

PRESS RELEASE:

Joseph McGill, President and Co-Founder of the Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce, was recently notified of the Chamber’s award of a grant issued by Emigrant Support Program of the Government of Ireland. The grant award followed drafting and submission of same by McGill with the assistance and support of Chamber Treasurer Blake McLellan and the Board of Directors and was approved by the Irish Minister of State for the Diaspora and International Development.

The Emigrant Support Program is a tangible expression of Ireland’s support of, commitment to, and interest in the global Irish community. It aims to strengthen the international Irish community and its bond with Ireland. Through this program projects are funded that have a clear and identifiable impact on supporting and building global Irish communities. The Irish Abroad Unit of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade manages and coordinates the program in partnership with Ireland’s Embassies and Consulates abroad.

Since its inception in 2004, the Emigrant Support Program has assisted over 530 organizations in 34 countries with grants totaling over €158 million. Grants have ranged from small amounts for grass-roots groups, to major allocations awarded to voluntary and community organizations operating on a large scale. In 2017 alone there was over 420 applications from more than 20 countries requesting over €20 million worth of funding for the Program’s €11.6 million budget. McGill’s grant request was awarded in competition with hundreds of applications from Irish groups from around the world and will be used to support the Chamber’s efforts to grow the Irish American business community in the State of Michigan and foster its ties with Ireland and the Global Irish.

 

 

Welcome Dan Casey To The MIACC Board of Directors

The Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors welcomes Dan Casey to our Board of Directors team. We are looking forward to working with Dan.

Dan has been a financial advisor with Edward Jones for over 3 years. Moving to the Detroit area in May 2017 with his wife, Dan found the MIACC. With strong Irish roots, including getting his citizenship and growing up in an Irish neighborhood in Boston, MA, Dan knew the MIACC was a perfect fit for him and his business. Dan attended the University of New England in Portland, ME for his undergraduate studies and completed his Master’s degree at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. Dan is very active, he and his wife enjoy hiking, running, golf, tennis, and water sports. Dan is a former strength and conditioning coach for High School and Collegiate athletes, so his passion for helping people improve themselves and their life has been engrained in him for over a decade. You will catch Dan at the MIACC socials with a Guinness in hand and a story to tell, please feel free to say hello!
