MICHIGAN IRISH AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTS STEPHEN HENDESON, POLITICAL COLUMNIST FROM THE DETROIT FREE PRESS

* Henderson addressed Chamber members on the impact of the November Mayoral election

DETROIT, MI – The Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce recently hosted an informative evening and discussion about the impact of the Detroit Mayoral Election with Detroit Free Press Political

Columnist, Stephen Henderson.

The event took place at the Gaelic League of Detroit, 2068 Michigan Avenue, and was sponsored by the Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce and catered by Slows BBQ.  There was an award ceremony where President Dave O’Connor presented Judge Daniel P. Ryan, PH.D  with the “President’s Leadership Award” for his tremendous commitment for the successful launch.  Ron Cooley, co-owner of Slows BBQ was the first recipient of the “Entrepreneur of the Year Award.”  A startup organization can only be successful with excellent legal counsel.  Attorney Joseph McGill with Foley, Baron, Metzger & Juip received the “Business Law Award” for his major legal contribution.

“Given we launched the Irish chamber less than 18 months ago and were able to have 120 attendees at this event is a testament to our success and rapid growth. I am proud of our organization as we continue to develop unique and informative programs for our members,” O’Connor said.

O’Connor, officially launched the Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce in June 2012 with the following mission: “The Michigan Irish American Chamber of Commerce is an organization of individuals and business people, and other community members working together to advance the business, culture, education, and civic welfare of the citizens of Michigan who are of Irish decent.”
